John has worked in the Hospitality and Catering industry for the last 35 ears, starting his career in a local pub as a waiter and starter chef.
He studied at Tameside college, then continued his education at Henley College in Coventry. He has worked in many different aspects of the industry from fine dining to pub restaurants and has also worked in Germany, London and The Lakes.
For the last 20 years John worked as a Food and Beverage lecturer for 16 years at Tameside College. He has now been at Cheshire College South and West, working in a similar role at Crewe Campus for the last 4 years and through his work has successfully placed many students into the Hospitality and Catering industry. He is also a Restaurant service Judge for World Skills Uk, and his passion and motivation for the industry is unquestionable.
John also runs with his family a Coffee business that does events with A Tuk Tuk, called One Sip at a Time.
John also started Bridging the Skills gap to try to address the shortages within the Chef and Front of House areas and is keen to offer information, help and advice where it is most needed.
He has most recently taken on the role of National Chair of PACE and is also leading and shortly going to Chair of a new FOH Craft Guild.
